On the nose, it displays juicy plum and ripe red berries like raspberry and tart cranberry, along with a hint of bitter blood orange. On the palate, the cuvée is incredibly powerful with enormous drinkability, refreshing acidity, and bone-dry, light-footed alcohol; a delicately sparkling texture carries through to the long finish. Served chilled, it’s a versatile food companion.

It pairs excellently with summer cuisine, grilled vegetables, charcuterie, or spicy Levantine cuisine. If you're expecting a delicate, pale, sweet Provence rosé, you'll find the opposite here: a distinctive natural wine with character and grip.

Winemaking with Respect

The grapes come from biodynamically cultivated vineyards in Gumpoldskirchen at an altitude of 240 to 270 meters above sea level, where the Pannonian climate provides hot summers and dry autumns. The 10 to 20-year-old vines are rooted in clayey, calcareous gravel-filled sedimentary soils. Harvesting is done by hand into small 20 kg boxes. Some of the grapes are destemmed, some are pressed as whole bunches and spontaneously fermented – partly on the skins – in oak barrels. After four months on the full lees and two months on the fine lees, it is bottled without filtration or fining.

Fred Loimer on his house wine: vinified as in the past, with today's knowledge. Accompanied from grape to bottle with minimal intervention, naturally biodynamic, neither fined nor filtered, aged without SO2 and only bottled with low SO2. Spontaneously fermented, partly on the berries, patiently matured in wood – dry, with fresh acidity and liveliness.

Loimer gluegglich Rosé – a wine and its values

Origin: Wine from Austria

Natural wine according to Respekt-BIODYN

Grape varieties: Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Pinot Noir

10.5 % vol.
