1956. André Vandererfven takes over a small gourmet shop from the late 19th century in Kortrijk, a city in West Flanders. A classic delicatessen, like thousands of others – until Vandererfven decides to no longer just sell other people's goods, but to produce his own jams and marmalades. This decision made Belberry what it is today: a manufacturer of fruity specialties, found in delicatessens all over the world, and consistently expanded since 1990 under Belberry's son Thierry.
Today, Belberry holds the title of Purveyor to the Belgian Royal Court – Queen Paola particularly appreciates the citrus marmalades from the manufactory. The product line has grown significantly since then: fruit vinegars have become their own category, with flavors rarely found in Europe.
