In 2010, Boris Sauerborn took over his parents' restaurant Zum heiligen Stein in the Licher district of Muschenheim, not far from the Hessian university town of Gießen. The small village has a historical past and a 4000-5000 year old sight: the Megalithic tomb Heiliger Stein.
The lamb bratwurst from their own sheep with homemade ketchup was probably the most popular dish on the menu at the restaurant Zum heiligen Stein. When guests then asked if they could buy the ketchup in a jar to take home, Boris developed the idea for Ketchup zum Heiligen Stein, which became part of the gastronomic success story.
