Discover the Klumpp Estate Pinot Gris – [ORGANIC]

The Klumpp Pinot Gris 2025 is an estate wine from Weingut Klumpp. This white wine is characterized by ripe, yellow pear, quince jelly, and sweet Cavaillon melon, complemented by pleasantly spicy notes from wood aging. The Pinot Gris is taut, boasts excellent drinkability, and is incredibly delicious. A subtly salty kick lurks in the juicy finish!

The 25-30 year old vines for this Pinot Gris estate wine from Weingut Klumpp grow on two different soils: partly on a high plateau with gypsum-keuper soils with high clay content, and partly on very heavy clay-marl soils. This results in long-lasting wines with high density and complexity.

Winemaking – Klumpp

To harvest ripe grapes in autumn, optimal sun exposure is crucial, so Markus and Andreas Klumpp ensure early double-sided defoliation of the grape zone. Later, yield reduction is achieved through grape splitting. Selective hand-picking of the grapes takes place in three passes. At the winery, grapes and mash are not pumped but are transported to the fermentation tanks by gravity. 75% of this white wine ferments temperature-controlled in stainless steel tanks. 25% ferments in 500l tonneaux with five months of lees aging, during which bâtonnage, the stirring of the lees, is practiced for three months. This brings fullness and creaminess to the Pinot Gris.
