Klumpp Winery Pinot Blanc – Estate Wine from Baden – [ORGANIC]

The Klumpp Pinot Blanc 2025 is a dry estate wine from Weingut Klumpp, characterized by candied citrus fruit, red apples, yellow stone fruit and white florality, along with pleasant mineral notes from the shell limestone.

The 25-year-old vines for this Pinot Blanc estate wine from Baden grow in the Kirchberg site in Unteröwisheim. The south-facing slope with shell limestone soils and a thick loess layer provides a complex minerality in the wine and is one of the steepest vineyards of Weingut Klumpp.

Winemaking – Klumpp Pinot Blanc

To harvest ripe grapes in autumn, optimal sun exposure is required, so Markus and Andreas Klumpp ensure early two-sided defoliation of the grape zone. Later, yield reduction is achieved by grape splitting and thinning. The selective hand harvesting of the grapes takes place in four picking passes. At the winery, grapes and mash are not pumped but are moved into the fermentation tanks by gravity. Slow, temperature-controlled fermentation and a two-month yeast aging take place in stainless steel tanks. This preserves the fine, complex fruitiness of this white wine.
