Big Green Egg Medium Starter Package 2026. Five components for grilling, smoking, and baking on 1,140 cm².
Big Green Egg Medium Starter Package 2026 is the manufacturer's complete set (AMHD4) with a ceramic grill, intEGGrated Nest+Handler, ConvEGGtor, ConvEGGtor Basket, and two half-moon cast iron grates. Not a gas grill, not a table grill, not just an Egg without accessories.
Big Green Egg Medium Starter Package 2026 is a premium Kamado complete set from Big Green Egg (also known as the Medium Starter Set or Medium Complete Package). It bundles five coordinated components into a high-quality outdoor kitchen system that covers all common cooking methods from the very first firing. When you first open the lid and hear the quiet crackle of charcoal, a relationship begins that usually lasts for decades. The ceramic walls store heat like an oven. The embers last for hours, and with two half-moon cast iron grates, two temperature zones can be managed on one cooking level.
Five components, three cooking zones — what's in the set
The set includes five components: Medium Ceramic Grill, intEGGrated Nest+Handler, Medium ConvEGGtor, ConvEGGtor Basket, and two half-moon cast iron grates.
The Medium Ceramic Grill has a 40 cm grate diameter and 1,140 cm² grilling surface. The intEGGrated Nest+Handler is a wheeled stand with integrated handles, allowing the Egg to be moved even over thresholds. The ConvEGGtor is the ceramic heat deflector that transforms the Egg from a direct grill into a convection oven. The ConvEGGtor Basket is a stainless steel frame that cleanly holds the ConvEGGtor in the Egg and allows it to be inserted and removed with grill gloves — without directly touching the stone. The two half-moon cast iron grates are each 20 cm deep and together form the full 40 cm diameter.
This combination opens up three classic cooking zones: directly over open coals for steak and burgers, indirectly with a ConvEGGtor for pulled pork and baked goods, or two-tiered in the ConvEGGtor Basket for simultaneous cooking of multiple preparations. The set is not suitable for users who only grill small portions for one or two people — for that, the MiniMax is the more economical choice.
From Steak-Sear to 12-Hour Pulled Pork
On 1,140 cm² of grilling surface, you can cook steaks for four to six people, a 30 cm pizza, or several racks of ribs simultaneously.
Specific setups: Sear a 400g entrecôte at 280 °C directly over both cast iron grates for two minutes per side, then finish indirectly with a ConvEGGtor at 130 °C until it reaches the core temperature. Pulled Pork: Insert the ConvEGGtor in the basket, smoke at 110 °C for ten to twelve hours, core temperature 92 °C. Pizza: ConvEGGtor with pizza stone at 300 °C, three minutes cooking time — crispy like from a stone oven. For Asian preparations: Duck at 140 °C indirectly for three hours, the charcoal adds a subtle smoky note without obtrusive wood flavors. Spare ribs using the 3-2-1 method: three hours at 110 °C with hickory chunks, two hours in butcher paper, one hour glazing.
The two half-moon cast iron grates offer an option that a continuous full grate does not: you can remove one grate while the other remains loaded — for example, to stoke the embers or add wood chunks between the coals. If you already own a Big Green Egg Medium without a set or prefer a larger version, you will also find the Large Starter Package in our assortment.
From experience: When lighting the Egg for the first time, burn it in for one hour at 120 °C — the ceramic degasses production residues and absorbs heat for the first time. Charcoal, lighters, and cleaning tools are not included in this updated 2026 set — you select suitable consumables separately from our range, from natural charcoal to the Eggniter lighter.
From Mexican Ceramic — Kamado Tradition since 1974
Big Green Egg has been manufacturing in Mexico since 1974 following the Kamado tradition.
The Kamado is a Japanese clay oven that came to the USA via American soldiers after World War II. There, Ed Fisher developed it into today's ceramic grill platform. What distinguishes Big Green Egg is the material thickness of the ceramic: walls and lid are over two centimeters thick. The assembled Egg Medium weighs 51 kg. This mass is not an end in itself — it provides the thermal inertia that allows the Egg to run precisely as both a 300 °C pizza oven and a 90 °C smoker.
The glaze is fired in multiple layers and covers both the inside and outside. It protects against weathering, can be wiped clean, and is not damaged in winter, provided no standing moisture gets inside. The ConvEGGtor should be stored dry and closed between uses. Big Green Egg offers a lifetime warranty on the ceramic — a statement that is rare in the high-price segment. Practically no repairs are to be expected in the first decades. Wear parts are the ventilation slides and the cast iron grates, which develop a patina after years of use but remain functional.
A one-time purchase — designed for generations
The Medium is the all-rounder of the Egg family — compact enough for a patio or balcony, large enough for six to eight people.
Those who buy a set save themselves the later retrofitting of the Nest, ConvEGGtor, basket, and grates — and receive the components at a bundled price. With a height of 71 cm and a weight of 51 kg, the Medium is designed for patios, city gardens, and load-bearing balconies. However, it is not suitable for balconies without a load-bearing floor — 51 kg requires a solid surface. The set is suitable as a gift for special occasions such as a wedding, a milestone birthday, or moving into one's own home. It is a purchase that is passed down through families to the next generation.
Five components that allow you to grill, smoke, and bake from the very first weekend — and not think about the next Egg for another twenty years.

How it all began
Does this sound familiar? You return from vacation with a bottle of olive oil from Portugal in your suitcase, a jar of fruit spread from South Tyrol, perhaps a bar of chocolate from a small factory in France — and you ask yourself: Why can't I find something like this easily at home? We kept asking ourselves this question.
We are Kerstin and Stephan Uhlenbusch from Nordhorn, a city on the German-Dutch border. On our travels through Europe, we made the most wonderful culinary discoveries: mountain apple juices from the high altitudes of South Tyrol, Breton barrel butter, handmade pasta from Italy, French sea salt. It wasn't the big luxury products that fascinated us, but rather the honest, artisan-made foods from people who put their heart and soul into their products.
In 2002, we decided to turn this passion into our profession: to make good food accessible to everyone who cannot travel to the producers themselves. This is how our gourmet shipping business came into being — initially as a store in Nordhorn, soon after as one of the first gourmet online shops in Germany. Back then under the name nur Gutes (only good things) — today we continue it as ginusslande.com. The ambition has remained the same: this is where good taste resides.
Who we are
What drives us is the same curiosity with which we started in 2002: finding out who truly makes good food. Over more than two decades, we have built a network — with producers, traders, restaurateurs, and culinary artisans from all over Europe.
Kerstin was the managing director of the association of leading delicatessen merchants in Germany — the industry association of the country's best owner-managed delicatessen stores. In this role, she not only accompanied but actively shaped the German delicatessen industry. With the deli Festival, we also launched our own B2B trade fair for delicacies, which brought together producers, traders, and restaurateurs from all over Europe. The festival no longer exists today — but the relationships that arose from it still accompany us.
What does this mean for you? We know our industry like almost no one else. Chambers of commerce and economic development agencies from all over Europe repeatedly introduce us to exciting producers who want to offer their products on the German market. This way, genussland always offers something you won't find in any supermarket and hardly in any other shop.
What you'll find here
Our assortment includes fine foods, delicacies, wines, non-alcoholic beverages, and selected kitchen and home accessories — from manufacturers in Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, England, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Greece, and the USA.
An extra virgin olive oil from Portugal, a genuine Aceto Balsamico from Modena, Fleur de Sel from the Breton coast, hand-mixed spice blends. Fruit spreads, aromatic honey, truffle delicacies, chutneys, and mustard sauces. Vintage sardines and fine canned fish, risotto rice, and handmade pasta — basic ingredients for honest cooking and specialties for special moments.
Our fresh delivery service brings the legendary Beurre Bordier from Brittany, Italian Burrata, and fine salami to your home — securely packaged and continuously chilled.
Wine is particularly close to our hearts: white wine from Rheinhessen and the Pfalz, red wine from Austria and Burgenland, rosé for barbecue season, natural wine for the adventurous, sparkling wine and champagne for special moments. Not from all over the world — but from winemakers we have personally visited and whose work we appreciate. Many of them work organically or biodynamically.
Our Philosophy
What makes a product a genussland product? We ask ourselves this question for every single item we add to our range. The answer is never one-dimensional – it's the combination of craftsmanship, origin, ingredients, and the people behind them.
We ask many questions before a product finds its way into our shop. How is it made? Where do the raw materials come from? What philosophy does the manufacturer pursue? We quickly notice whether we are hearing marketing clichés or if a producer is happy to explain their journey. It is precisely this enthusiasm that we seek – and repeatedly find.
Craftsmanship. We prefer products from small manufactories and family businesses that often produce their culinary treasures by hand for generations. The careful processing and artisanal skill can be tasted in every bite.
Best Ingredients. For us, good quality begins with the raw materials. Whether it's fruit, vegetables, milk, meat, or grain – we ensure that our manufacturers rely on first-class, as natural as possible, ingredients. Many of our producers are organically certified; our shop itself is organically controlled under the number DE-ÖKO-037.
Origin and Regionality. We appreciate products with a clear regional identity. A South Tyrolean mountain apple juice made from slowly ripened, old apple varieties. A Portuguese olive oil from trees that have shaped the landscape for centuries. These stories of origin make delicacies what they are.
Personal relationship with the manufacturer. We have known many of our suppliers personally for years, some for over two decades. We visit them, taste together, and exchange ideas. This proximity guarantees transparency and trust.
At the end of the day, it has to taste good. We try all products ourselves – not just once, but again and again while cooking, at the table, on the plate. Only what convinces us personally finds its way into the shop.
The people behind the products
What brings us the most joy: We get to accompany passionate individuals on their journey. People whose drive it is to make a good product even better. Some have been with us since our founding - for over twenty years.
There's the South Tyrolean fruit farmer who presses mountain apple juice from old, slowly ripened apple varieties, unlike anything else. The Italian balsamic family who ages their vinegar in Modena for decades. The Breton butter manufactory whose hand-churned butter is on the menu of the best restaurants in Europe. The Danish licorice pioneer who reinvented a centuries-old specialty.
Behind every product in our shop stands a person, a family, a story. And it is precisely these stories that make the difference between an interchangeable food item and a true delicacy.
This is where good taste resides
Whether you want to order fine foods online, are looking for a special wine, want to put together a gift for a loved one, or simply want to enrich your kitchen with high-quality ingredients — genussland is the right place for you.

Refrigerated Shipping
Our product range includes food items that react differently to heat. To ensure that every product arrives in perfect condition, we handle the shipping of two product groups with particular care.
Products requiring refrigeration
These items are marked with the note "kühlpflichtig" (requires refrigeration) in our shop — for example, Bordier butter, Parmigiano Reggiano from Cavola 993, Pancetta and Guanciale from Falorni, mountain herb ham and Tyrolean dumplings from Steiner, Prosciutto Crudo and truffle butter from Viani. We generally ship these products by express delivery with ice packs. They are only available via express shipping. The shipping costs will be clearly displayed before you complete your order at checkout.
Temperature-sensitive products
These items are marked with the note "temperaturempfindlich" (temperature-sensitive) — for example, salami and bacon specialties from Falorni and Steiner, as well as Goufrais cocoa confectionery. In cooler weather, they can be sent by standard shipping. In warmer weather, we switch the shipping to express shipping with ice packs before checkout — in this case, this shipping method is the only option, and the corresponding shipping costs will be displayed at checkout.
Shipping days for refrigerated and temperature-sensitive orders
To prevent any package from remaining in a distribution center over the weekend or public holidays, we only ship refrigerated orders from Monday to Thursday. Orders placed after Thursday will generally not be shipped until the following Monday. In summer, this rule also applies to temperature-sensitive products.
Packaging
Depending on the manufacturer, sausage and cheese specialties are supplied either vacuum-packed or traditionally without foil — for example, Italian salami from Falorni. If air is visible in a vacuum package upon delivery, this is not a quality defect. Please unpack the item and store it in the refrigerator, ideally wrapped in sausage paper or greaseproof paper.
Freight Forwarding
Freight forwarding is used for products that cannot be delivered as a package due to their size or weight. The selection is made automatically before completing the order. Please provide your phone number for scheduling the freight forwarding delivery.
Delivery Area
Currently, we only ship within Germany. Shipping to Austria is in preparation — as soon as we can deliver there, you will find the details here.
Products subject to excise duty (alcohol) cannot be shipped to Austria.
Alcohol
Alcohol can only be shipped to adults. The deliverer will verify age upon delivery. By ordering alcohol, you also confirm that you or the recipient are of legal age.
Shipping Service
For manual creation of shipping labels, we charge an additional €2.50 per shipping label in addition to the stated shipping costs. Please note that we cannot retrospectively combine orders that have already been placed.
Investigation of failed payments
For the investigation and refund of payments incorrectly made to us, we charge a processing fee of €5.00.
With us, you pay in the way that is most convenient for you: PayPal, credit card, or Klarna.
Purchase on account, installment payment, and advance payment are also possible.
Of course, every payment is secure and reliable – so you can enjoy with complete peace of mind.
