Peppermint Christmas Soap is a festively packaged scented soap from Castelbel Porto, which has a clear and cool scent of fresh peppermint – as invigorating as the first snow of the year. The 150g soap from Portugal is based on vegetable oils. It comes from the Christmas series Christmas Sing-Along, whose paper sings a Christmas carol: "Have yourself a merry little Christmas".

Clear, cool, winter fresh like snow

The Peppermint soap smells minty, fresh and wintry, of cool peppermint and a breath of winter air, as bright as a morning in fresh snow.

It is wrapped in fir-green paper with gold lettering, tied with a red and white cord. A bauble-shaped tag hangs from the ribbon, depicting snowy fir trees and the words "Let your heart be light". The design is modern and clear, a fresh eye-catcher for the Christmas shelf, playful yet elegantly crafted.

The lines of the Christmas carol run across the entire paper, which you almost hum along to when unwrapping. When you unwrap it, a pure white soap bar appears, embossed with the Castelbel Porto lettering.

Castelbel and the art of soap making from Porto

The Portuguese soap brand Castelbel was founded in 1999 in Castêlo da Maia, near Porto, where soap making has a tradition of over 300 years.

Its founder was Aquiles Barros, a professor of chemistry and formerly with the traditional soap factory Ach Brito. He focused on soaps made from 100% vegetable base, with fine fragrances from Europe, hand-stamped and hand-wrapped, as Aquiles Barros wanted from the beginning.

Since 2006, the soaps of the Ambiente series have carried this reputation to the washrooms of the Louvre in Paris, a year later followed by the noble Portus Cale series. The Peppermint Christmas soap fits in here – affordable luxury for the festive season. That's what Christmas sounds like!

Gifting Tip

Place the soap on a draining dish between washes to keep it dry, then it will last longer and lather until the very last bit. This way, the clear mint scent stays fresh until the end.
