Karl May Wine – "Blutsbruder" Taster Pack – 6 Bottles
The Karl May "Blutsbruder" Taster Pack contains 2 bottles each of Blutsbruder Red, White, and Rosé, allowing you to sample all three Blutsbruder wines.
When two brothers, in a Winnetou-Old-Shatterhand-like understanding, cultivate a winery named Karl May, genuinely and honestly, in the eternal expanse of the Wonnegau region, there simply must be wines called BLUTSBRUDER. Karl May's Blutsbruder Red was the first wine of the Karl May family, soon followed by Blutsbruder Rosé and White. In all three Blutsbruder cuvées, a local grape variety is married with an international one.
The Blutsbruder Wine Taster Pack contains the following bottles
- 2 Bottles Karl May Blutsbruder Red 2022: a dry red wine cuvée from the winery of Fritz and Peter May in Osthofen, Rheinhessen. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Cubin at 80% and Dornfelder at 20% give the Karl May Blutsbruder Red a powerful character. From a glass of the red Blutsbruder, the aroma of fresh red bell pepper, ripe black currants, and blueberries streams forth, accompanied by a hint of campfire and leather. Come, be brothers!
- 2 Bottles Karl May Blutsbruder White 2024: a dry white wine cuvée from the winery of Fritz and Peter May in Osthofen, Rheinhessen. Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc give the Karl May Blutsbruder White smoothness and crisp freshness. On the nose, the scent of ripe stone fruit and exotic fruit aromas, along with delicate floral notes and a fine herbal spice. Its fine acidity gives it a juicy freshness reminiscent of a babbling mountain stream in the Rocky Mountains. Tastes great with many modern, light dishes, but also works well by the campfire.
- 2 Bottles Karl May Blutsbruder Rosé 2024: a dry cuvée from the winery of Fritz and Peter May in Osthofen, Rheinhessen. Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot give the Karl May Blutsbruder Rosé a powerful character. On the nose, the scent of red fruits such as raspberries, strawberries, and red currants, along with notes of fresh red bell pepper and a fine herbal spice. On the palate, it is juicy, berry-like, fresh, with a medium body, good acid balance, and a long-lasting finish.
Karl May Wine – Preparation
The vines for this red wine cuvée from the Karl May winery grow in organically managed vineyards in various locations with sandy loess-loam soils. To harvest ripe grapes in autumn, Fritz and Peter May begin as early as January with gentle pruning and early defoliation of the grape zone for optimal sun exposure, as well as yield reduction through green harvesting. The early, selective hand-picking of the grapes takes place in several passes. The path to the new winery is short, where the grapes are gently processed further. The mash is gently pressed, the must spontaneously fermented, and aged in stainless steel tanks.
