Pinot Blanc – Organic Estate Wine from Karl May Winery
The Pinot Blanc 2024, an estate wine from Karl May Winery, is characterized by the aroma of ripe quince, sweet almonds, and exotic pineapple. A true all-rounder: dry, with a medium body, good acid balance, and moderate alcohol content.
The Karl May Pinot Blanc pairs perfectly with a wide variety of dishes and is simply a joy to drink. Its delicate aromas make it ideal for both German and international cuisine. We enjoy this smooth Pinot Blanc well-chilled at 8 – 10 degrees Celsius.
Winemaking – Karl May
The vines for this Pinot Blanc estate wine from Karl May Winery grow in organically farmed vineyards in various locations with sandy loess-loam soils. To harvest ripe grapes in autumn, Fritz and Peter May begin as early as January with gentle pruning and early defoliation of the grape zone for optimal sun exposure, as well as yield reduction through green harvesting.
The selective hand-picking of the grapes often takes place in several passes. The journey to the new winery is short, where the grapes are gently processed. The mash is gently pressed, and the must is spontaneously fermented, remaining on the lees for a long time and matured in stainless steel tanks.
